Offshore Thailand - Blocks 5 and 6

In 1972, Idemitsu acquired a 50% interest share in the northern Gulf area, which includes current Blocks 5 and 6, from Amoco Thailand Petroleum Company (now BP), and carried out exploration activities including exploratory drilling of four wells. Currently, we have the disputed portion of original blocks between Thailand and Cambodia.
Though the blocks stretch across an oil and gas trend in the waters of Thailand, as the same situation as OCA Areas I & II, the exploration activities have not yet started because of the unsettled border issue. We are hoping to make the operation as soon as possible.
As Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. acquired interest shares of Thailand 5 and 6 LLC in 2009, interest shares in the area have been changed to the following.

Partners

Idemitsu Oil & Gas Co., Ltd. 50%
Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (MOECO) 20%
Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production, Ltd. (Chevron) 20%
Chevron Blocks 5 and 6 LLC (Chevron)(operator) 10%
